What You'll Be Doing

CLECO works across a range of sites--from private country estates to national infrastructure projects--and our work shifts with the seasons. Projects can last anywhere from a single day to sixty days. You'll be working outdoors in all weather conditions, from the very best to the very worst that the British climate has to offer.

Typical tasks include (but aren't limited to):

Mechanical vegetation clearance - mowing, strimming, ride-on mowing Herbicide application Tree felling and tree planting on a landscape scale Invasive Species Control Tool and Machinery Operation Horticultural planting Tree surveying General site clearance Habitat Creation and Restoration
This is physically demanding work but equally satisfying. Every day presents a new challenge, and no two sites are the same. The job requires applying intelligence to your working methods so that you stay compliant with health and safety, and with the job spec at hand.

Schedules can change at the drop of a hat or sometimes be planned well in advance--either way, being adaptable is key.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who's willing to work hard, problem-solve on the job, and get the task over the line--whatever it is that day.

Flexibility is essential. Contracting by nature means adapting--to time constraints, changing weather conditions, new procedures, different job specs, and different landscapes across the UK. Each site is unique, and so your mindset, approach, and skillset will need to adapt too.

We take health and safety seriously at CLECO and expect everyone on our team to do the same. You don't have to know everything on day one--but a willingness to learn, adapt, and grow with CLECO is vital.

We're looking for someone who:

Has practical experience in land-based or conservation work (professional or voluntary) Can adapt quickly to new environments and changing priorities Is physically fit and enjoys hands-on, outdoor work Is safety-conscious and understands the importance of working within health and safety regulations Has a positive attitude and is comfortable problem-solving on the job Effective collaborator and communicator Is a team player with a strong work ethic Is flexible with working hours and travel or overnight stays Ideally has desirable qualifications: SSSTS, CSCS card, First Aid +F, relevant tickets e.g. brush cutter, PA1/ PA6a tickets, LANTRA certificates, it would be advantageous to hold CPCS, FMO, and chainsaw / ariel rescue / climbing certificates Ideally has an understanding of the ecological principles that guide habitat creation, restoration, and long-term management.

Pay: From 12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
