About Us

Devon Tree Services is expanding into ecology. We're looking for a capable and ambitious Ecologist to become part of a new in-house ecology offering, working alongside our established arboricultural consultancy and operations team.

About the Role

You will carry out a wide range of ecological surveys and assessments across Devon and the South West. You'll be involved in both fieldwork and reporting and will have the opportunity to shape the ecology side of our business.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Phase 1 habitat surveys, bat and GCN surveys, reptile, dormouse, badger and bird surveys Produce technical reports (PEAs, EcIA, EPS licence applications etc.) Liaise with clients, local authorities and internal teams Support the development of ecology services within the company
Essential Criteria

Degree in ecology, environmental science, or related subject Experience carrying out protected species and habitat surveys Strong report writing skills Full UK driving licence
Desirable

At least one protected species licence (or working towards) Membership of CIEEM QGIS, AutoCAD, or mapping experience
