Ecology Practice Administrator



Due to continued growth and development, we have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our dynamic ecology team.

As a practice we pride ourselves on delivering a responsive and adaptable service to clients, providing high quality, pragmatic, solutions and outcomes. Your primary focus will be to assist in the day to day running of the Practice providing support to the field and practice management teams, ensuring we continue to deliver and develop our services as our Practice continues to grow in size and strength.

The role is office based - our offices are in Cropwell Bishop, with full-time hours but can be flexible to suit the right candidate.

The Role:



To provide administrative assistance to the growing ecology team. The ability to remain focussed in an organised but fast-paced environment is essential while attention to detail and good communication skills are all key skills we will be looking for. Detailed knowledge of MS Office, and in particular Word and Excel, is essential. Key tasks are:

First point of contact for incoming telephone enquiries

Client liaison

Day to day support for field staff

Document creation/formatting to assist with delivery of technical reports

Accommodation and travel bookings

Assisting with time recording/collating information

Project monitoring and management,

Production of invoices as required

Collation of receipts and expenses

Maintaining Health and Safety records and PPE issue/management

Maintaining a register of equipment

The ideal candidate will be able to evidence excellent communication skills, self motivation, problem solving and able to work on their own initiative, both independently, and within a team. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. You should be adaptable and flexible in your approach to task management and able to reprioritise according to commercial/operational requirements.

Knowledge of ecological practice and processes are not essential for the role; however, an interest in the natural environment/wildlife would be an advantage. Own car is also essential as the office is not readily served by public transport.

Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday -08:30 to 17:30. The role is expected to require 25-35 hours per week with this variable for the right person to join the team, as well as some flexibility with start/finish times within our normal working hours.
