Economic Policy Officer (x 3)
Are you passionate about shaping the future of a vibrant and ambitious city?
We are seeking three Economic Policy Officers to join the Economic Strategy Team in Sheffield City Council.
Sheffield has made massive strides in cementing its economic ambitions over the last few years, with approval of the Sheffield Growth Plan taking place in December 2024. Now attention is turning to delivering the plan, and the Economic Strategy Team will be at the heart of this exciting new phase.
This high-performing team, part of the Employment, Skills and Economy Service, delivers a range of functions including policy support and development; strategy development; project development and management; data modelling and analysis. The team works with a wide range of stakeholders, building strong relationships with colleagues across the Council and organisations and individuals external to the Council.
The Economic Strategy team has a track record in delivering successful projects: it led on the formation of the City Goals for Sheffield, drove the development of the Growth Plan, as well as critical initiatives such as supporting the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District and the Economic Recovery Fund.
We are looking for a self-motivated and resourceful person, who is able to carry varied workloads, meet deadlines and has the ability to carry tasks through to a successful conclusion.
The successful candidate will help to establish new initiatives and lead the resulting projects and policy development activity. You will co-ordinate economic projects, provide policy support to the city's economic development plans and assess future economic policy and legislative developments and provide advice on the implications for the Council.
Are you ready to join a team that is dedicated to delivering Sheffield's economic ambitions? If you are, we want to hear from you.
