About the Role

We are seeking a driven and technically curious

Edge Computing Engineer

to support the design, development, and deployment of edge-based solutions. This role suits both entry-level candidates with foundational knowledge and experienced professionals in distributed systems, IoT, or edge/cloud integration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build efficient, low-latency systems that operate at the network edge.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimise edge computing architectures and applications. Collaborate with cloud, IoT, and network engineering teams to build end-to-end solutions. Implement data processing and analytics pipelines at the edge to reduce latency and bandwidth usage. Integrate sensors, devices, and edge gateways with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Edge, GCP). Troubleshoot edge deployment issues, performance bottlenecks, and system reliability concerns. Contribute to the development of automation scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions. Produce technical documentation, diagrams, and deployment guidelines. Stay updated on trends in edge computing, distributed systems, and emerging technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

0-12 years of experience in edge computing, IoT, cloud engineering, or software development. Strong foundation in programming (Python, C/C++, Java, or similar). Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, or real-time processing. Familiarity with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP), edge devices, or embedded systems. Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple tasks. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, K3s). Exposure to machine learning at the edge (Edge AI). Use of Linux-based systems and scripting (Bash, PowerShell). Hands-on experience with hardware, sensors, gateways, or embedded devices. Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, routing).
