We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled

EDI Communications and Engagement Coordinator

to join our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team. This role plays a vital part in supporting and promoting the University's EDI strategy by developing engaging communications, coordinating learning and engagement initiatives, and fostering collaboration across the institution.


The position is set to commence ASAP and will be Part Time (Tuesday-Friday plus some occasional evenings for events) for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of 20.77 per hour + holiday pay


Key Duties:



Develop, collate and promote tools, guidance, case studies and other resources to share good EDI practice across the University Manage internal EDI communications channels, including compiling the monthly e-bulletin, maintaining Teams groups, and updating the EDU website with current and engaging content Maintain and update digital assets, reports, and publications such as the annual EDI Report, ensuring compliance with privacy and organisational policies Independently plan and deliver EDI-related events, workshops and webinars to encourage knowledge exchange and peer learning Collaborate with the Chief Diversity Officer, Head of EDU and EDI Advisors to organise tailored briefings and advice sessions for departments, creating supporting training materials Work with internal communication teams and EDI Advisors to plan and promote awareness campaigns around key equality dates (e.g. International Women's Day, Pride Month) Project manage EDI learning, communication and engagement initiatives aligned with the University's EDI action plans Monitor EDI developments in the media and higher education sector to inform internal and external communications Build and maintain strong relationships with University equality networks, the EDI Community of Practice, and other key stakeholders to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing

Selection Criteria:



Proven experience in a communications or events-based role within a university or similar environment Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accessible and engaging content on EDI topics for diverse audiences Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation Good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues and current debates within higher education Experience designing and delivering training, or facilitating meetings, workshops and events Experience in supporting communities of practice or professional networks Proven ability to consult and engage effectively with varied stakeholder groups using different approaches Customer-focused approach with the ability to understand and respond to user needs Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and deliver high-quality service
