Guardian Media Group (GMG) is a leading global media organisation, the publisher of the Guardian, which celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2021, the Observer and theGuardian.com, which attracts over 200 million global unique browsers each month. We are renowned for our ground-breaking independent journalism and our award-winning digital products.
We are now looking for an Editorial Administrator (12 month secondment or fixed term contract) to work as part of the editorial management administration team. You'll support the central functions of the editorial department, and provide PA support to the Managing Editor.
About the Role

  • Provide general assistance to the Managing Editor and team - typically helping with diaries, room bookings, escorting guests, solving IT problems, ordering stationery
  • Provide fast and accurate responses for all queries regarding the editorial casual workers' rota management system, iBooker. Work with other members of the editorial management team to ensure a consistent approach, amend/create/clone rotas as required, input staff/casual shifts where necessary to ensure analysis reporting is accurate
  • Contact casual workers to offer shifts and manage bookings
  • Input personal information into oracle for new starter casual workers, ensuring accuracy of payment details and contact details
  • On a monthly basis or as requested, process casual shift details for payroll purposes and produce the relevant reports for the finance and payroll teams
About You
  • Proven systems experience of processing invoices/ payments
  • Demonstrable experience of work that requires close attention to detail, particularly on spreadsheets, rotas, data entry
  • Experience of diary management
  • Experience of working with confidential material
  • Experience of working with more than one manager/team
  • Ideally experience of working in an editorial environment
  • Ideally, you'll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role
