Are you passionate about scientific publishing and eager to support cutting-edge research? Join the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) as an Editorial Assistant in India! This is a fixed term contract for 4 months covering maternity leave.


We're seeking a detail-oriented, proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to world-class scientific publications and engage with the academic community.


At the RSC, we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working. While this role is based at our India office, you'll have the option to work from home within India, with occasional travel as needed.


Key Responsibilities:



Provide administrative support for external community engagement Assist in promoting our journal and book portfolio Maintain and develop journals' online presence in India via social media Support editorial and marketing initiatives Maintain Editorial and Advisory Board lists Develop and maintain good relationships and excellent channels of communication with existing and potential authors, referees, board members and customers in India. Undertake any other reasonable duties and projects as required by the Editorial Development Manager

Requirements:



A degree in science (chemical science preferred) Must be efficient and highly competent in the use of software packages associated with PCs. Good organisational and time-management skills are required, together with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Good communications skills and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to make sound evidence-based judgements Previous experience in Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) publishing would be an asset.
