Job Description

We're excited to be recruiting for a full-time Editorial Assistant to join the team at a well-regarded medical and scientific publisher. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to break into scientific or digital publishing, and to contribute to the creation of high-quality e-learning content for healthcare professionals. This full-time role is based in Paddington, London, with a requirement to work in the office at least two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
The Role
You'll be supporting a friendly and collaborative editorial team responsible for managing a growing online education platform aimed at specialist clinicians. The role involves both editorial and administrative tasks, and would suit someone very detail-oriented, organised, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the coordination, assessment, and updating of online educational content
Liaise with clinicians, authors, editors, and peer reviewers to support content workflows
Maintain accurate records, databases, and production schedules
Copy-edit and fact-check medical content as needed
Provide general editorial and administrative support, including issuing contracts and managing copyright permissions
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and can manage multiple tasks at once with accuracy and professionalism. A scientific degree or relevant experience is preferred but not required. Strong organisation, communication and admin skills are essential.
Essential:
Strong writing and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Confident with MS Office and able to learn new systems quickly
Comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders
Desirable:
Experience with editorial or publishing processes
Familiarity with and/or interest in medical educational content
Previous work with databases or online content platforms
