We are looking for a project manager for our expanding pre-press editorial team
Duties
To manage journal and book production workflow, ensuring editorial quality standards, deadlines and budgets are maintained to include:
checking of work into production
liaison with freelance suppliers, such as copyeditors, proofreaders, indexers and typesetters, throughout the production cycle
liaison with authors
collation of corrections
checking of paginated proofs at various stages
journal issue make-up
To liaise with customers as necessary, via e-mail and telephone
To copyedit material as required
Skills required
Biomedical/maths/physics based degree would be beneficial.
Copyediting experience with background in the sciences, though training can be given
Knowledge of journal and book production workflow, with experience of page layout
Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, use of ftp/e-mail and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent communication skills
Able to work on own initiative
Knowledge of typesetting systems would be an advantage

Hours: 37.5 hour week, flexible working arrangements, may be possible to work from home under our hybrid working policy for the right candidate.
