UnHerd is one of the fastest-growing new media outlets in the UK. Covering politics, philosophy and culture from an \xe2\x80\x9caway-from-the-herd\xe2\x80\x9d angle, it publishes well-known and esteemed writers alongside entirely new voices.

The editorial traineeship is a six-month programme which entails a wide variety of tasks that will give the successful candidate fantastic experience in an innovative editorial operation.

We are looking for candidates with a keen understanding of the UnHerd mission and a hunger for news and ideas. If you\xe2\x80\x99re someone who has a knack for reading between the headlines, can pick out interesting nuggets and spot trends that others might have missed, then this might be perfect for you.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

  • The successful applicants will receive training in all aspects of digital editorial production:
  • Idea generation
  • Forward planning
  • Editing
  • Writing
  • Production of podcasts and video
  • Social media and SEO
  • Graphics and use of CMS
Requirements

Who we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • Candidates with:
  • A demonstrable interest in politics, news and ideas
  • Good writing skills
  • Organisational skills (familiarity with publishing software a bonus)
  • A self-starter, can-do attitude
  • Journalistic experience (welcome but not essential)
