As part of our team, you\'ll be responsible for leading the design, development, and validation of power distribution boxes against programme specific electrical architecture, geometry, cost, weight, quality and timing requirements. You\'ll work closely with supplier partners, ensuring on-time delivery according to the commodity plan. Applying Agile principles, you\'ll create and follow commodity plans, manage engineering change requests, and resolve any issues that arise.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Prepares EDS Power Distribution Box RFQ packs and follows sourcing process to make suppliers on board to deliver Power Distribution Boxes to the vehicles on time according to commodity plan.
  • Understands the project content, program direction letters and project delivery plans.
  • Creates and leads the design validation and verification plan together with supplier partners and uses requirement management tools for EDS Power Distribution Boxes.
  • Ensures robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to prototype / serial production.
  • Works closely with supplier partners and electrical module packaging teams to find robust packaging solutions for power distribution boxes on the vehicle.
  • Applies BoD (Bill of Design), BoP (Bill of Process), DFM (Design for Manufacturing) into the design in collaboration with supplier partners and other commodities/attributes.
  • Uses foundation FMEA / SCSS and finds delta failure modes unique for applications, follows up ongoing quality issues and takes required actions for prevent recurrence.
  • Manages engineering change requests for power distribution boxes and power distribution boxes device transmittals by following company specific processes.
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
  • Experience and good level of technical knowledge on electrical & mechanical design and testing aspects of EDS power distribution boxes and components (such as relays, fuses).
  • Good level of knowledge about manufacturing methods / technologies used for EDS Power Distribution Boxes.
  • Experience on fusing strategy, fuse sizing, grouping and hierarchy.
  • Able to understand the power feed requirements of a component based on its electrical load profile (transient, nominal, maximum, stall) and functional safety class.
  • Able to read and understand EDS wiring harness electrical schematics.
  • Experience on wiring harness, connectors and electrical circuits / complexity, project and supplier management, change management, supplier sourcing process, RFQs, APQP, financial management, engineering sign-off processes, issue and problem solving (such as IS/IS NOT, 8D), issue management, quality tools, engineering releases, FMEA etc.
  • Experience on 12V/48V and HV power distribution systems and overall electrical systems.
  • Experience with the following tools/systems would be a benefit but not essential as training can be provided: WERS, CATIA, Siemens TCe, IBM DOORS, ReliaSoft, Device Transmittals (DT) Database, Engineering Change Request Management (ECRM) systems.
  • Experience and knowledge on Road Vehicles - Functional Safety: ISO26262
