The Education Engagement Coach is passionate about working with young people and will use this enthusiasm in post to increase participation and engagement among the young people in the theory and practical application. The primary aim of this post is to deliver support, mentoring and coaching sessions to registered school students who are part of our bespoke curriculum for students who need support outside of the mainstream education setting. The role will require delivery of activities including multisport, team-building games and playing a pivotal role in mentoring, supporting the learners needs in theory lessons being delivered by the lead tutor and aiding retention of learners on the course. All resources will be provided prior to delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
To ensure that all sessions are planned and delivered to a high standard.
To assist the lead tutor where necessary support those who need extra help by offering 1 to 1 guidance.
To support the participation, retention, and progression of learners in their sessions.
Liaise with other staff members effectively.
Supervise the young people and ensure they are always safeguarded.
To attend and engage in all relevant staff meetings, and maintain effective communication with staff, learners, and other relevant organisations.
Assist with behaviour management and create a positive learning environment.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
To undertake training and CPD as necessary and relevant to the post.
To be familiar with the CVT Code of Conduct and all operational, Health & Safety, Child Protection and Data Protection policies.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Engagement Coach must have a passion for working with young people from different educational backgrounds, and be committed to raising standards, be reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated. They must possess excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, ICT, and management skills and be able to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff.
Education and Experience
Minimum of any recognized coaching certificate in any sport.
3 or more years of teaching assistant or coaching experience working with a variety of aged groups including secondary school age.
Experience of delivering training and working in community spaces and/or sports settings.
Experience of working with young people who are hard to reach, hard to engage.
Work Environment
The role will be based at two location, one location is the new cabin classrooms on our 3G football pitch, there is a free car park available, you will have access to the full use of the pitch and have endless resources to create new and innovative games to engage the young people. There is a kitchen available to use onsite and you will be working in pairs alongside our Lead Tutor.
The second location is at Llwynypia BGC, CF40 2EL, there is parking on roadside, you will have access to the indoor sports hall, and classroom. There is a kitchen available to use onsite and you will be working in pairs alongside our Lead Tutor.

Contract Period: The post is self-employed.
Probation The appointment is subject to the satisfactory 1-month probation.
