Job Description

Nudge Education is a national intervention service for children that are chronically disengaged from education.





We are hopeful that the tailored and bespoke interventions that we design and deliver will help to re-engage thousands of children across the country in the coming years.



We are seeking a Team Lead who will be responsible for leading, developing, and supporting a team of up to 10 Education Intervention Coordinators. This role combines hands-on support with coaching, mentoring and leadership to ensure exceptional stakeholder engagement, compliance with operational processes and effective team performance.

Responsibilities:



Leadership & Team Management:





Provide line management, coaching, and professional development support to a team of up to 10 Intervention Coordinators. Foster a collaborative, positive team culture grounded in accountability, impact, and care. Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews, setting clear goals and development plans. Manage team members against performance management strategy and policies.



Operational Oversight:




Ensure high standards of session planning, risk assessment, safeguarding reporting across all interventions managed by the team. Oversee and support Intervention Coordinators in managing case complexities, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of risk or performance issues. Monitor team capacity and workloads, making informed resourcing decisions in collaboration with senior leaders.



Quality and Compliance:





Establish, monitor and review departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance requirements, safeguarding procedures, and data protection protocols. Conduct spot-checks, file auditing, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal systems and frameworks. Support the roll-out and adoption of new policies, training, and quality initiatives within the team.



Stakeholder Engagement:




Ensure positive relationships are nurtured with Commissioners, families and other key stakeholders. Act as the point of escalation for stakeholder concerns, managing issues with professionalism and care. Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and with external partners where needed.



Requirements:




Proven experience in team leadership. Experience working in education, health, social care, or youth services. Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

Key details of the role:




Location: Head Office, Newcastle Salary: 31,000-36,000 Hours of work: Full time year round, 37.5 hours per week. Contract duration: Permanent (subject to passing 3 month probation period) Reporting to: Operations Manager
