Hours:

22.5 hrs per week (as agreed) A working pattern will be agreed to meet the needs of the service. Yellow Door do not pay overtime but operate a Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) Policy.

Base:

Hybrid - Remote/Yellow Door as main base in Southampton with travel required across Southampton, Portsmouth and Hampshire. You will need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

CONTEXT OF JOB

Yellow Door has a team of around 100 staff and volunteers, working together to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual abuse. We provide a diverse and innovative range of services to local people of all ages and genders. Last year we engaged with over 8000 young people through our education outreach STAR Project.



We are looking for someone who will use their skills and experience to support Yellow Door's aim to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual abuse. You will use your creativity to develop Relationships & Sex Education (RSE) programmes for young people. You will have experience of engaging and motivating young people and coordinating a team of staff and engaging them in meeting demanding delivery targets. PURPOSE OF JOB





To directly provide and oversee the education service provision by Yellow Door, mainly managing the STAR Project. Responsibility for the quality standards, monitoring, efficacy and delivery of all education provision in accordance with agreed contract and funding terms and conditions as well as internal performance measures. Lead responsibility for the co-ordination, development, delivery and evaluation of training, outreach and educational programmes. Participation in the progression of best practice at Yellow Door as a member of the Management Team taking part in organisational decision making at co-ordinator level regarding service strategy, development and delivery.

KEY DUTIES





PROJECT CO-ORDINATION



Take the lead in developing the STAR Project section of the Yellow Door business plan and co-ordinating, monitoring and reporting on STAR's delivery and development in accordance with this plan. Provide induction, line management, supervision and appraisal for STAR Project workers and volunteers as agreed. Line management responsibilities in line with Yellow Door Employee Guide and related Policies, proactively managing induction/ probation, performance management and continued professional development. Co-ordinate the development of the STAR Project area of the Yellow Door website and other means of working interactively with and/or disseminating information to Young People, Adults, Professionals and other stakeholders, for example through social media. Co-ordinate the audit, review and evaluation processes of all aspects of the project, to include recording, collating and presenting reports and statistical information as required. Co-ordinate and where appropriate deliver consultancy and/or training to other agencies on educational related issues. Represent Yellow Door /STAR Project at relevant forums and meetings as agreed. Take lead responsibility for ensuring that all STAR income and organisational resources including staff and volunteer time are utilised efficiently to maximise positive outcomes for the project. Co-ordinate and attend both internal and external training as agreed and share with other staff / volunteers any new skills and knowledge.


EDUCATION & OUTREACH WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS



Take lead responsibility for facilitating the ongoing development of a creative and innovative programme for young people and adults (particularly those most vulnerable). Designing, contributing and delivering training and workshops to other professionals and agencies working with Yellow Door Act on any safeguarding issues which arise with individuals in accordance with Yellow Door safeguarding policy Identifying, researching and ensuring inclusion of issues specific to diverse community groups and individuals. Developing and maintaining strong links with key stakeholders in local community services and vulnerable groups. Ensure that contact with schools, colleges, youth and community services and other appropriate access points is established and maintained and that sufficient liaison takes place with staff at STAR intervention sites in order to support appropriate project delivery in line with agreed contracts/service level agreements.


MULTI-AGENCY RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) CO-ORDINATION



Proactively book sessions with schools, youth settings and other education providers ensuring we meet or exceed the required delivery in our funding grant and contract agreements. To provide a single point of contact for secondary schools requesting support and input from multi-agency partners on RSE. To act as a consultation and advice source to schools and facilitate greater capacity for school-led leadership for RSE curriculum planning, development and delivery. To chair the Southampton Sex and Relationships Education Group.


ADMINISTRATION AND GENERAL TASKS



Keep up to date with local and national developments in the field of PSHE and abuse prevention. Liaise with Senior Leadership Team members at Yellow Door regarding any issues pertaining to safety and risk assessments. Share ideas and results with colleagues in order to maintain good communication with the Yellow Door team and to develop professionally through mutual exchange of skills, information and ideas. Attend staff, networking and team meetings as required.


Any other tasks as reasonably required by the line manager, CEO or trustees within the scope of the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION





Relevant experience



Training and/or experience of working with young people A relevant professional qualification e.g. in education, youth work, health, probation, social, community or other relevant fields Previous experience of management/ project management and the ability to co-ordinate a team of staff and engage them in meeting demanding delivery targets.


Skills



Experience of overseeing service development and delivery from planning to completion, flexibly planning, goal setting, organising and prioritising own and others work load. Experience of maintaining proactive and collaborative alliances with colleagues, stakeholders and partners and working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to provide education and/or training to other professional and non-professional groups. Ability to work autonomously in school and education-based settings Experience of contributing to policy and service planning including up-to-date knowledge and awareness of national and local commissioning priorities, ethical issues and strategic frameworks Specialist knowledge and application of issues and developments relevant to RSE, PSHE and healthy relationships Skills in data analysis and report writing demonstrating outcomes and learning
