Are you an organised and dedicated administrator looking to support the education welfare team at West Berkshire Council? We are seeking an Education Welfare Admin Officer to provide essential administrative support to the Senior Education Welfare Officer and contribute to the effective delivery of education welfare services.
About the Role
As the Education Welfare Admin Officer, you will be the first point of contact for enquiries related to education welfare. Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing administrative support to the Senior Education Welfare Officer, including diary management and correspondence.
Processing applications for education welfare services, such as school transport and free school meals.
Maintaining accurate records and databases, ensuring information is up to date and readily accessible.
Handling incoming enquiries, responding appropriately and directing queries to the relevant individuals.
Assisting with the preparation of reports and statistical information.
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Knowledge or experience in education welfare would be advantageous but not essential.
Please note this role is fixed term for 6 months from start date -
