An opportunity has arisen within the Centre for Teaching and Learning for an experienced educational development consultant to contribute to key areas of strategically aligned work. The Centre for Teaching and Learning supports the academic development of teaching and learning, aligning with agreed-upon institutional priorities for education and in partnership with students, colleagues in academic divisions, and professional services.

About the Role


The role holder will play a key part in advancing the Centre for Teaching and Learning's (CTL) work by taking on key responsibilities in the Advance HE-accredited Scheme, Oxford Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership Scheme. The role holder will bring their experience of leading Advance HE-accredited programmes to contribute to teaching, assessing, and designing learning for in-person and online learning environments across the Associate, Fellow, and Senior Fellow pathways.
The role holder will also be actively engaged in contributing to the CTL (re)designing summative assessment consultancy service (link) and have experience of working with course/programme teams to support them in developing new programmes and/or introducing major changes aligned with institutional course approval processes.

About You


Your strong foundation in educational development within higher education (HE) will enable you to contribute effectively to the Advance HE recognition scheme and (re)designing the summative assessment consultancy service. Drawing on your expertise in the leadership of recognition scheme, you will be able to teach, design and assess across D1-D3 PSF2024 and use your experience of accredited programme leadership to contribute to the Oxford Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership Scheme.

You will have a strong background and scholarship in programme and assessment design, working with course and programme teams to promote innovative and inclusive practices that empower staff to provide exceptional learning experiences for students. You will have experience of aligning your work with course/programme teams to institutional course appraisal processes.

You will have a proven track record of facilitating professional development opportunities for staff, providing inclusive, relevant, and engaging learning experiences. You will have an excellent understanding of diverse approaches to educational development underpinned by scholarship.

You will possess strong organisational and problem-solving skills, balancing multiple priorities and working autonomously with minimal supervision. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. Furthermore, your interpersonal skills enable productive collaboration with colleagues from various University departments and roles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
