Nurture Support Worker - Care Farm Setting - Academic Year Only
We are seeking a nurturing, proactive person to join our team and support small groups of
students as they build confidence, develop social and emotional skills, and achieve personal
learning goals in a care farm environment.
Working closely with the Educational Lead, you will help deliver engaging, farm-
based sessions that promote wellbeing, encourage positive behaviour, and support students
in working towards AQA Unit Award Scheme certificates. This is a unique opportunity to
blend nurture support with practical, outdoor learning
Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted support to small groups of students during practical, nurture-based
sessions on the care farm.
Encourage emotional regulation, resilience, and positive social interaction.
Support students in achieving AQA Unit Awards through meaningful, hands-on
activities.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive environment.
Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to the overall wellbeing and
protection of young people.
Record daily work skills sessions to capture learner engagement, participation, and
skill progression.
Produce learner progress reports for schools and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience supporting young people, particularly those with SEMH (Social,
Emotional, and Mental Health).
Empathetic, patient, and consistent approach.
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Willingness to work outdoors in all-weather as part of farm-based activities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
Desirable:
Experience working in a nurture group, care farm, or alternative provision setting.
Familiarity with the AQA Unit Award Scheme.
Skills in animal care, bushcraft, creative therapies, or practical outdoor tasks.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 11,850.00-13,680.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
