Job Title: Educational Practitioner (Trade Skills Mentor) - Part Time

Location:

Blackdown Hills - Farm-based Alternative Education Centre (AEC)

Hours:

Part-time, Wednesday to Friday

We are looking for a

practical, hands-on person with trade experience

to join our team on a part-time basis. You don't need teaching qualifications -- what matters is your ability to share your skills, remain calm in challenging situations, and support young people to learn in a safe and positive way.

Our Alternative Education Centre is set on a farm in the Blackdown Hills and offers vocational training in:

Bricklaying, Carpentry, Motor Vehicle, Metalwork Bike Maintenance, Cooking, Agriculture, Arts & Crafts
What You'll Do

Work 1:1 with students in their chosen area of interest Support learners to achieve Entry Level units Assist with practical repairs, maintenance and cleaning tasks Complete daily progress reports and liaise with the Head of Centre
What We're Looking For

Essential:

Experience in a trade (mechanics, carpentry, construction, etc.) Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, understanding and compassion Knowledge in at least two of our subject areas

Desirable:

Mechanics knowledge/experience On-site/trade background Experience with children or vulnerable adults Understanding of behaviour management

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 18,720.00 per year
