Job Description

As an Educational Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively with academic staff and student services to provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs, disabilities, or those requiring academic assistance. This role ensures students are equipped to achieve their educational goals through appropriate support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities



Provide in-class and one-to-one learning support to students with disabilities, specific learning difficulties, or mental health needs. Assist students in understanding coursework, using assistive technologies, and developing independent learning strategies. Support students in preparing for lectures, completing assignments, and managing time effectively. Work closely with academic tutors and the Disability & Inclusion Team to implement recommended support plans. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and support outcomes. Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to inclusive education initiatives. Assist with administrative tasks linked to student support, assessments, or outreach activities.

Qualifications



Minimum Bachelors Degree A relevant qualification in education, learning support, (e.g., Level 3 Learning Support, Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) will be preferred Experience working in an educational or support role, ideally in a higher education setting. Understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion. Competence in Microsoft Office and basic digital tools for education.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 23,500.00-28,000.00 per year
