This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.

This new full-time post is available from January on a permanent basis

Summary of the role

The Educator Development team is looking to appoint an Educator Developer who can work with our educators to help them build confidence and proficiency with their teaching and learning support activities.

The primary role of the Educator Developer will be to support the delivery of the university's Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LTHE) programme. However, they will also have a flexible portfolio, enabling them to contribute to a range of other teaching and learning support activities across the institution; through the delivery of appropriate and effective staff development resources and workshops. In particular, the Educator Developer will support initiatives and projects within the university's Success for All programme and Transformative Education Framework; which builds around three core principles of sustainability, inclusive education and racial and social justice.

To achieve this, the Educator Developer will require familiarity with social justice issues and how they relate to education; as well as knowledge of, and experience with, education; curriculum design; professional development; and pedagogical techniques and tools that can be used to support staff and students alike. The Educator Developer will be able to work closely with academic and professional services colleagues as well as with students in delivering support initiatives.

Educator Development is creative and impactful, contributing not only to the increased confidence and competence of educators, but also the learning gains and outcomes of students. The Educator Development team looks forward to welcoming a new colleague to help them with this meaningful work.

A background working in, studying, or supporting STEMM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) would be welcomed.

Please ensure you read the and Person Specification for full details of this role.
