At LIVES, we literally save lives in Lincolnshire. When someone calls 999 with a medical emergency, a LIVES responder may be dispatched, carrying the skills, experience, and equipment to make a life-saving difference for that patient--sometimes being the crucial factor between life and death. In a large rural county like Lincolnshire, this service is essential, and it's why we've been responding for over 50 years.
We are a charity, and our reach and impact have grown significantly over the last few years as we've developed new models and services to support the communities of our county. We've built a dedicated team of volunteers, including both laypeople and healthcare professionals, supported by our headquarters staff who lead and sustain the charity's operations.
We believe it takes a team to save a life, and every member of that team is vital in delivering the best outcomes for patients. Whether it's a bystander calling for help, a LIVES community first responder providing initial care, an ambulance crew offering advanced medical support, or a fire crew working alongside LIVES to rescue a patient from a road traffic collision--each role plays a crucial part. Our commitment extends to ensuring that our volunteers and partners are equipped with the education and skills to save lives.
LIVES Education Ltd., our trading arm, plays a key role in supporting our charity objectives. As a professional training business, LIVES Education Ltd. delivers high-quality education across the United Kingdom and beyond. The profits generated from our training services provide valuable funds that directly support our charitable work, enabling us to continue delivering life-saving care to communities across Lincolnshire.
Based in Horncastle, we operate throughout Lincolnshire. Our work is not limited to the county--our education programs reach across the UK and internationally, extending the impact of our life-saving mission far beyond our local communities.
