Efl Teacher

Job Description

LSI Cambridge is a year-round British Council Accredited school. We welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates who would enjoy teaching lively classes to international adults. We are looking for teachers available from January 2026 for hourly paid work.

At LSI we believe in using the communicative approach to English language teaching where the focus is on meaning and communication. For this reason, a topic-based syllabus, incorporating the lexical approach, is used and attention is given to functional language and applied language practice. The core syllabus books are English File, NGL Outcomes and NGL Life, which were selected for their variety of methodology, their quality and the suitability of the topics they contain. Teachers are encouraged to supplement from a wide range of resources in response to the needs of their students as and when they arise. To support this, there is a wide range of teaching resources in the staffroom and teachers are encouraged to create their own materials and to use realia and authentic texts accordingly, including those contributed by students. All class content is checked for appropriacy by the academic management on a regular basis via weekly plans and student progress tests. Student satisfaction is closely monitored to ensure that learning goals and outcomes are being met.
