Are you highly organised? Are you passionate about making a difference? If so, we may have the role for you in our Birmingham team. We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Coordinator to join our Birmingham Supported Internship team on a part-time, job-share basis, working 22.5 hours per week over three days.
At Mencap we're committed to making the UK the best place for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives. You'll be part of a values-driven organisation that is brave, kind, inclusive, positive and passionate!
As an EHCP Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination of the EHCP review process for both existing and potential new learners. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, parents/carers, and the learners themselves, to ensure EHCPs are high-quality, up to date, and completed in a timely manner in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
You will also play a key role in recruiting a specific number of learners to the programme each academic year by building relationships with referral sources and attending events. This will involve making informed decisions on suitable candidates based on observations, written documents, and contributions from families and the learners themselves.
This role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to meet targets and timescales.
