We have a vacancy within our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Department and are currently recruiting for the role of EHS Manager on the Day Shift. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation. This role will have responsibility in two separate locations, as detailed below.



Shift Pattern:

39 hours each week with a flexible starting time between 07:00 and 08:00 Monday to Friday, with a flexible finish time between 16:00 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and on a Friday, a finish time of 12.00. You will be entitled to a 30-minute unpaid lunch break between 12:00 and 12:30 Monday to Thursday. Additionally, you will have a 10-minute paid break each morning Monday to Friday and a 10-minute paid break each afternoon Monday to Thursday.

Role Accountabilities:




Accountable for the effective application of the Accrofab EHS Model, embedding and sponsoring the relevant principles across Alcester and Derby, ensuring EHS procedures and documentation are relevant and up to date, and to provide management advice where appropriate to enable the organisation to discharge its statutory, common and moral obligations, keeping appropriate employees abreast of changes in HS&E Legislation and Codes of Practice


Responsible for project managing the Accrofab Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) across Alcester and Derby.

Create and govern the activities and routines to ensure action is taken every day to prevent serious injury, serious health issues and environmental escapes. Create a working environment with wide employee participation to ensure the potential "chain of events" is broken by identifying and closing hazards every day as part of a Walk the Floor routine, or as part of a pre-task risk assessment (for non -routine tasks), paying particular attention to those categories which statistically account for the majority of serious accidents / fatalities and environmental escapes. For the above, regularly review existing procedures and risk assessments for adequacy, review levels of training, and review the state of relevant equipment and workstation layouts / the working environment. Development and Implementation of delegated walk the floor routines to control and improve the performance of health, safety and environment in line with required targets and standards A list of audit points, to be checked at defined frequencies (several times a day, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually), with a structure involving operations and functional management, production operators, EHS management and external specialist contractors. Organise and participate in "Job Safety Observations" (JSO) according to a rolling schedule (as a practical and interactive way to complete parts of the audit routine), including coverage of any "critical" safety processes. Ensure all investigations and associated problem-solving is timely, comprehensive and fit-for-purpose with respect to follow-up of accidents, health concerns, environmental incidents, near-misses and security breaches. Improve employee engagement through regular promotional and participative events such as "Accident-Free Months" and "EHS Awareness Talks" Project manage all departments and stakeholders across Alcester & Derby, to ensure a joined-up plan is in place to achieve the required EcoVadis rating in line with the Accrofab strategic plan Remain up to date with any Industry or customer specific ESG related requirements such as Science Based Target Initiative SBTi and United Nation Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) and implement the necessary controls.

EHS Compliance



Ensure Alcester & Derby maintain EHS Management Systems in line with ISO45001 and ISO14001 and any customer specific requirements Be always prepared for audits through the maintenance of environmental, health & safety processes, procedures and effective walk the floor routines Ensure all documentation / processes and procedures are "fit for purpose", and audit their application in practice Feedback audit findings to the management team and to govern the set of corrective actions for improvement Provide independent professional advice and technical information where appropriate to the management team to enable the company to discharge its statutory, common and moral obligations, keeping appropriate employees abreast of changes in EHS Legislation and Codes of Practice Provide training for staff in relation to EHS policies, practice and procedures. Develop and ensure implementation of the appropriate "standard diary" governance to achieve the annual and longer-term EHS goals as defined
