Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Location: Berwick Upon Tweed

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7.00 -16.00

(flexibility is required)

Is this role for you?

We have an exciting opportunity for an HSE Manager, based at our site in Berwick Upon Tweed who will have overall responsibility to co-ordinate, advise on and manage all site Health, Safety and Environmental aspects.

Reporting into the Site Manager, the EHS Manager will provide directional support to the Business in the

Planning, Measuring, Reviewing, and auditing of Environment, Health & Safety activities to meet legal requirements. You will work closely with management and all colleagues to foster a culture of safety, providing advice and guidance to enhance current health and safety practices. Your key responsibilities of the role will include:

Overall responsibility for site Health and Safety and ensure compliance with legislation

To ensure continuous improvement in H&S performance by driving H&S KPI's by implementing risk control measures and promoting a positive safety culture

Promote the reduction of the site's environmental impact

Liaise with regulatory and enforcing authorities where required

Review all Risk Assessments and undertake where appropriate and ensure they are communicated to colleagues

Identify specific training requirements on site H&S and provide appropriate training

Who are we looking for?

With previous experience within an operations/manufacturing fast paced environment, ideally within food, in a similar H&S Management capacity you should be an effective communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels.

You should be NEBOSH qualified as a minimum and have the legal and technical understanding of Health and Safety Regulations.

You should have experience of delivering impact and of implementing a positive safety culture and be comfortable in working in a fast paced, change orientated environment.
