As part of Landing Systems, the Wheels & Brakes business designs, manufactures, tests and supports aircraft wheel and braking systems for more than 200 commercial, civil and military aircraft applications worldwide.


The Wheels & Brakes business also operates one of the world's largest third-party service centre networks with a complete service package of OEM quality overhauls and repairs, full technical and AOG support, proven logistics management and rapid turnaround times.


A vacancy has arisen for a EH&S Specialist responsible for the management of all EH&S programmes and issues to ensure the protection of employees from industrial accidents, occupational and environmental health hazards and fire.

What you will do:



Write, review, update and implement EHS programmes, procedures, reports and training as required by RTX/Collins Aerospace Policy and UK regulatory agencies.
Inspect, audit, assess and sample all facility activities related to ensuring environmental compliance as required by law and directed by the Business Manager and RTX/Collins Aerospace policy.
Follow the EH&S Management System and drive corporate initiatives, analyze and assess trend data, and facilitate relevant Environmental training.
Provide data to corporate and collect EH&S metric information and various reports.
Assist in the development of environmental policies and procedures to ensure the continuous improvement of EHS programmes in the plant, including management systems. Train, coach and mentor others to improve their EHS effectiveness.
Partner with group leads to investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to determine root cause and provides corrective action that eliminates repeat occurrences.
Develop, coordinate and present training programmes for EHS related subjects required by UK and company requirements.
Manage wellness programs
Maintain liaison with regulatory agencies
Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline
Make a significant contribution to their team by applying their knowledge of the discipline

Qualifications we prefer:



Bachelor's degree in EHS or related discipline preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education. Relevant EH&S experience - it is

essentia

l that you have experience of working within an Engineering & Facilities environment. Demonstrated knowledge of UK laws and regulations concerning EH&S. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience creating and presenting EHS training Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Access).
