The E&ICA System Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in SCADA and PLC systems, overseeing industrial control & automation across critical infrastructure such as water, sewage, tunnels, and energy. This role ensures system reliability through technical leadership, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the specialist drives fault resolution, maintains compliance documentation, and empowers others through targeted training, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of Heathrow's systems.
Act as the SME for SCADA and PLC systems, ensuring operational integrity across electrical, water, sewage, and tunnel infrastructure. Uphold engineering standards and regulatory compliance through expert knowledge and application.
Evaluate system-based asset performance, identify faults and inefficiencies, and lead strategic improvement initiatives. Drive problem-solving efforts and support system optimisation across the operation.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient resource utilisation and smooth operations. Provide expert guidance and technical assurance across multidisciplinary teams.
Lead technical training sessions for colleagues and apprentices, enhancing understanding of complex systems and fostering team capability and assurance.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, work orders, and spare parts. Ensure documentation is compliant with Heathrow standards and regulatory requirements and kept up to date for your asset group.
Direct and resolve 3rd-level technical escalations, applying specialist knowledge to troubleshoot issues swiftly and effectively.
Clear Control System background, preferably using PLC's
Ability to work effectively across various teams, including operations, solutions, technical, and leadership groups.
Attention to detail and awareness of little inaccuracies, which could create a big impact.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a recognised engineering discipline.
