Job Description


Teaching, Learning and Student Experience aims to facilitate the delivery of an outstanding learning and student experience in the Faculty of Humanities, working in partnership with colleagues in Schools and across the University.

The Faculty of Humanities is looking to appoint an eLearning Manager, to lead the Humanities eLearning team. The post holder will:

  • Lead, direct and facilitate the delivery of a range of innovative digital learning technology support services that enhance the teaching and learning experience across the institution and are informed by academic priorities and university strategy.
  • Manage the provision of a professional, high quality, efficient, customer-focused eLearning service to all staff in the Faculty of Humanities, leading the team to achieve operational excellence in the delivery of eLearning services, and support sustained growth in activity.
  • Input into the formulation of the Faculty\'s strategic and operational priorities for Teaching, Learning and Students where appropriate to ensure that the Faculty continues to enhance the quality of the staff and student experience through the use of technology.
  • Proactively build relationships and engage with colleagues across the Faculty to promote the pedagogical application of digital learning technologies and to generate ideas and discussion on how digital learning can benefit staff and students, turning these ideas into successful projects.
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively across the University to ensure the customer-focused delivery of institutional and local priorities.
The post holder will also contribute to the shaping and implementation of the institution-wide , including the review of Manchester\'s virtual learning environment, associated technologies and digital learning service; and more broadly to the wider change programme which aims to increase the flexibility in our teaching and learning provision.
