This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with an open-minded approach to learning within the home education community, to provide support and advice to families who Electively Home Educate.
This position is term-time only 38 weeks per year, 37 hours per week.

About the role
You will work as part of a small team to provide advice, guidance and support to families in Buckinghamshire who have chosen to home educate their children.
You will plan and undertake visits to parents/ carers and children in their homes (or other agreed venues) to ensure that the education provided is suitable under the terms of Section 7 of the Education Act 1996.
You will also provide post visit reports for parents and maintain accurate electronic pupil information records.
You will be required to travel throughout the county therefore must hold a current full driving licence and you will need your car insured for business purposes.
Buckinghamshire Council currently uses a hybrid work model. This incorporates a mixture of in-office and remote home working (this is subject to change, due to working demands).
Mobile:
A 'mobile' role gives you the flexibility to schedule your own diary, so you can meet with colleagues and clients in a variety of locations. You'll access digital folders and resources on your laptop and be able to use the network wherever you are based. Working from home will be common, as well as meeting your team in the office where necessary.
About you
Knowledge of education systems, practice and teaching is essential.
Experience of multi-agency working is crucial, and you must be able to demonstrate that you are highly organised and self-motivated.
Thorough and up to date knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to Elective Home Education is a key requirement.
Several years' experience as a teacher and knowledge of special educational needs and safeguarding.
Excellent communication skills are vital to this role, as the successful candidate will be liaising with schools, families, social care, and other professionals.
