The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK.

This continues to be a period of significant change in electoral law. The Election Act has made a number of changes to the way elections are run, and the Scottish Parliament and the Senedd are also taking forward programmes of electoral reform.

Job description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated manager to take on the role of Electoral Reform Guidance Manager. The role offers an opportunity to play a key part in the development and co-ordination of our guidance and advice to support administrators with managing and delivering electoral services as a result of ongoing legislative and other electoral reform.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Elections Guidance Manager and the Electoral Registration Guidance Manager to lead the EA Guidance team in delivering guidance and support to electoral administrators, candidates and agents in line with the Commission\xe2\x80\x99s guidance production and management strategy.

You will also be responsible for the provision of high quality, consistent and timely advice in response to queries from external sources and to support staff in the Commission\xe2\x80\x99s offices in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and across England.

Role requirements
The ideal applicant will be highly organised with the ability to lead the team to deliver a diverse work programme against challenging timeframes and competing demands. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build and sustain strong working relationships with key colleagues across the Commission and stakeholders across the electoral community.

You will be someone with attention to detail, exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills, with a good understanding/experience of the work of electoral administrators and able to manage a busy and varied programme of work to a high standard. You will need initiative, be able to work well without close supervision, and be able to think creatively about how to solve problems and make improvements.
