Job Description

We design, build and install specialist engineered door systems across the UK and in more than 50 countries. As we grow, we're looking for Field Based Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to deliver installation, commissioning and service activities on customer sites, supported by block periods in Carlisle for build, testing and development work. These roles involve regular weekly travel to West Cumbria and require flexibility to work away from home.

How the role works



Site based


Primarily in Cumbria and the wider North of England, with some work in Southern Scotland and occasional international travel. You will:

Install, commission and service specialist and nuclear grade door systems Carry out diagnostics, repairs, adjustments and safety checks Provide documentation and customer updates Work safely at height and in line with RAMS, HSQE and client authorisation requirements Represent the business professionally on site

Factory based


At our Carlisle facility you will support:

Build, assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical systems Factory acceptance and pre-installation preparation Troubleshooting, adjustments and quality checks Continuous improvement and production support Training and familiarisation with new products
Electrical Engineer Path

Key focus areas


Wiring and building control panels; producing wiring harnesses and soldered assemblies; electrical fault-finding; installing and servicing electrically driven systems; interpreting schematics and technical drawings.

What you'll bring


Time-served or formally qualified in electrical engineering; strong grasp of ELV and LV AC/DC principles; confident with wiring, diagnostics and use of electrical test equipment; able to work at height and read technical documentation.

Desirable


BS7671, ECS card, experience with industrial control systems or automation, PASMA/IPAF.

Mechanical Engineer Path

Key focus areas


Installing and servicing industrial, specialist and nuclear-grade door systems; mechanical fitting, alignment and adjustment; working at height; diagnosing mechanical faults; repairs and planned maintenance; interpreting mechanical drawings.

What you'll bring


Time-served or qualified in a mechanical discipline; experience assembling or maintaining mechanical equipment; confident with tools, fault-finding and working on large moving systems; able to obtain CSCS and P4 clearance.

Desirable


Existing CSCS/P4, PASMA/IPAF, experience with shutters or similar equipment.
