By joining our team as an Apprentice Electrician, you will attend college and work alongside our experienced electricians to gain a Level 3 qualification in electrical installation and maintenance. Working alongside a mentor, you will have lots of opportunities to learn, develop your skills, and gain practical experience.
This position requires you to work 40 hours per week, on-site from 8am until 5pm Monday to Thursday and 2.30pm on Friday when not attending college. We need you to commit to studying for at least 20% of working hours, completing coursework on time and to a high standard, and passing assessments during and at the end of the apprenticeship.
This course run for 4 years before you are fully qualified.
Please note that the first 26 weeks of this role will be solely based at college, after this you will be required on site 4 days a week and 1 day at college in person.
This course is hosted by Swarm based in Norwich.
The ideal candidate will have:
GCSE Maths - Level 4 (Grade C) or above
GCSE English - Level 4 (Grade C) or above
Full UK driving licence required, or willingness to work towards one within your first year and means of transport to travel to work and West Suffolk College in the meantime.
Enthusiasm to learn and drive to achieve results to a high standard
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
Competence in Microsoft applications such as Outlook and Teams
Desire to work within the Electrical trade field.

Daily responsibilities:
You will have the help of your mentor to learn all these skills and are not required to know them before starting this position.
Carry out electrical installation works and electrical-related repairs and maintenance on Flagship properties
Support other trades and colleagues across the business as required
Work efficiently and safely, striving to minimise waste
Use various tools and equipment to perform tasks such as inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems
Work with schedules of rates to assess the work content of jobs and complete estimates, ensuring all work is completed to the required standard first time round
