Pennine Refrigeration Services Limited, part of the Unitech Industries Limited Group of Companies, have a vacancy for an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer. The position can be based either in Calverley, Leeds, or at Unitech Head Office, in Burntwood, Staffordshire

Role Overview:
To effectively oversee the design and delivery of all work related to the electrical control and automation of the company's products and services. Reporting to the Electrical Project Manager. Other duties involved in this role are outlined below:
Primary duties will include:
Develop compliant and efficient PLC software and hardware designs for use in the company's products and services.
Design and produce electrical control drawings.
Take full responsibility for the accurate selection and efficient procurement of all control-related hardware and components for project works, as required.
Provide technical support and assistance to onsite engineers and end users
Demonstrate excellent IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
Provide precise and comprehensive quotations related to electrical and control project works.
Manage the efficient execution of electrical and control-related project tasks where necessary.
Financial responsibility for any project work you are involved in.
Provide onsite commissioning support for project works
Oversee the training and development of the company's onsite engineers/trainees in PLC control
Demonstrate excellent customer-facing skills and represent the organisation at external project meetings when required.
Develop strong relationships with clients and suppliers
Have involvement with Project Design, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager
Manage project documentation efficiently and correctly
Address any commissioning or post-commissioning issues immediately.
Work within agreed financial and time constraints for project works
Participate and, where required, lead the Research and Development of new systems and products that are identified as being potentially beneficial to the company
Carry out your duties in a safe, professional manner at all times, taking responsibility for the implementation of appropriate PPE where necessary
Take supervisory responsibility for the company's junior electrical/controls engineer
Show motivation and a willingness to employ initiative where required
Demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills for the role of Electrical Controls Engineer.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, oral and written
Maintain a working knowledge of relevant legal regulations
Skills & Experience Required:
Educated to a minimum HND/HNC or degree level in an engineering-related subject
Excellent IT skills: Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills
Effective time management
Strong commercial/financial awareness
The ability to present design ideas and plans clearly
Sound decision-making ability
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Previous experience within a similar role
Conversant in AutoCAD
Experience in writing software for PLC and Siemens SCADA systems
Desirable skills and Experience:
Experience within the refrigeration industry
Experience in writing software for RDM Mercury plant controllers
Ability to troubleshoot on electrical control panels and associated installations
The ability to correctly select electrical and electronic components for electrical installations and panels
Experience in producing Bills of Materials from electrical drawings, then obtaining quotations and procuring items from suppliers
Effective communication skills when dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers
The ability to work well alone and as part of a team whilst in the office and on customer sites.

Hours of work Monday-Friday
28 days holiday (inclusive of annual, bank/public days) increasing with service.
