Are you an innovative electrical design engineer with a passion for leadership? Join our team in Peterborough to design and test custom control panels using AutoCad and EPLAN. You'll collaborate with clients and internal teams, ensuring compliance with standards, and provide technical support during panel assembly. Your role will involve on-site modifications, electrical testing, and maintaining accurate documentation, all while driving forward cutting-edge solutions in control panel design.
Main Tasks & Duties
Use AutoCad and EPLAN to design electrical schematics and control panel layout drawings including mains distribution, motor and safety circuits, and PLC equipment/IO.
Develop I/O configurations, material specifications, and bills of material.
Undertake site surveys and derive solutions for retrofit hardware projects
Modify hardware and panels on-site up to 400VAC
Conduct electrical testing and fault finding in CDD's workshop and on-site.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (BS EN, IEC).
Provide technical support during panel assembly.
Perform quality checks and assist in troubleshooting design issues.
Maintain accurate documentation and revision control.
Generate cable lists, perform sizing calculations, and produce electrical test sheets and single-line diagrams.
Plan cable routes, calculate containment sizes, and update building layout drawings.
Candidate Profile
Fluent in English language
Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) or
C&G Level 3, NVQ 3 & requirements for electrical installations (BS7671) or equivalent
Experience with AutoCAD and EPLAN, or other drawing package
Able to produce electrical schematics & layout drawings
Experience working with 13849 and producing Sistema reports
Knowledge of current standards, electrical regulations and safety requirements
Knowledge of drives, PLCs, control gear (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens)
Flexible, self-motivated, works well as part of a team
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and enjoy working in a team
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
At least 1 year of relevant experience
