Laila's Fine Foods is a successful, family-owned manufacturer of chilled and frozen ready meals supplying the UK retail and foodservice sectors. We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with the appointment of an additional Electrical Engineer.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant reliability and performance within an automated, chilled and frozen food manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering high equipment availability through planned maintenance, fault finding, and breakdown response Diagnosing electrical faults quickly and taking a proactive approach to continuous improvement Supporting the installation, calibration, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of production equipment Communicating and reviewing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules Contributing to efficiency improvements, reducing downtime, and supporting production targets Supporting compliance with food safety, engineering, and site standards Working collaboratively with production, technical, and engineering colleagues

About You

You will be a hands-on Electrical Engineer with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential:

Proven electrical maintenance and installation experience Recognised electrical qualifications (minimum apprenticeship and City & Guilds) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential) Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence and own transport

Desirable:

Experience within food manufacturing (chilled, frozen, or high-care environments advantageous) ONC or equivalent qualification Experience working with automated or bespoke production systems

Shift Pattern

Early shift role starting between 05:30am and 07:00am 47.5 hours per week, including alternate Saturday mornings Shift details discussed in full at interview
