Reporting To:

Electrical Supervisor, providing regular updates on wiring progress, control panel status, programming activities and potential issues

Overall Purpose of the Role



The Electrical Engineer is responsible for carrying out electrical wiring, control panel assembly, testing, and programming tasks as part of the manufacturing process for isentra's refrigeration and heat pump plant. The role involves interpreting electrical drawings, wiring control systems to a high standard, supporting control software implementation, and ensuring that all work complies with relevant quality and safety regulations.

This is a hands-on role within the electrical production team and will support the Electrical Supervisor in delivering high-quality, compliant electrical systems to defined timescales.

Key Responsibilities and Duties



Electrical Wiring and Panel Assembly



Accurately interpret and work from electrical wiring diagrams and schematics Carry out wiring and assembly of control panels and electrical components according to internal standards and specifications Conduct self-checks of electrical work and contribute to team-level quality control procedures Support the fitting and electrical integration of components on refrigeration and heat pump systems

Control Programming and Commissioning Support



Assist with the programming of control systems, including inverters, PLCs, and related hardware (e.g. RDM or equivalent platforms) Perform basic setup and configuration of control components as directed Support testing, fault finding, and system adjustments as part of the build and test process

Quality and Compliance



Ensure all electrical work is completed in line with UK electrical regulations (e.g. BS7671) and company standards Identify and report any non-conformities, wiring issues, or deviations from the design Maintain high levels of accuracy, traceability, and workmanship in all electrical tasks

Problem Solving and Technical Support



Diagnose basic electrical faults and assist in resolving them in collaboration with the Electrical Supervisor Escalate complex issues appropriately and contribute to root cause analysis where required Participate in continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing activities within the team

Collaboration and Communication



Work closely with the Electrical Supervisor to ensure workloads, priorities, and deadlines are met Communicate effectively with design and production teams regarding technical queries or clarifications Provide support to colleagues and contribute to a safe, organised, and productive working environment

Person Specification



Essential



Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 2365/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) Strong hands-on experience in electrical wiring and panel assembly within a manufacturing or industrial setting Ability to interpret and follow complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Sound understanding of UK electrical regulations and safety practices Familiarity with electrical components such as relays, contactors, inverters, and PLCs Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to electrical work Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently under supervision and as part of a team

Desirable



Experience with control system programming (e.g. RDM, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar) Basic commissioning and functional testing of electrical control systems Knowledge of refrigeration or heat pump systems Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Business ByDesign)

Suggested Level of Experience



The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a practical electrical engineering role within a manufacturing or production environment. They will be competent in control panel wiring and have exposure to control logic or programmable systems, with a willingness to develop further under the guidance of the Electrical Supervisor.

Pay: 25,500.00-40,000.00 per year
