About the Role
CHG is an exciting and rapidly growing business, operating across the water, utilities, manufacturing, and wider industrial sectors. With major frameworks secured for AMP8 and AMP9, this is a pivotal time to join the organisation.
Working closely with design, project, and site teams, you will be responsible for producing compliant electrical designs, supporting installations, and ensuring assets are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client and regulatory requirements. This role offers exposure to AMP framework projects and opportunities for technical development within a growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Produce electrical designs including single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
Design LV power distribution systems, MCCs, control panels, and associated field equipment.
Ensure compliance with BS7671, WIMES, CDM 2015, and client-specific standards.
Support MEICA integration with mechanical, ICA, and civil design disciplines.
Carry out site surveys and assessments of existing electrical installations.
Respond to technical queries (TQs/RFIs) and support project delivery teams during construction and commissioning.
Assist with design risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and CDM design reviews.
Review supplier technical submissions and drawings for compliance and suitability.
Contribute to O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and handover packs.
Support continuous improvement and standardisation of electrical design processes.
About You
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
3-5 years' experience in electrical engineering within utilities, water, wastewater, or similar infrastructure sectors.
Good working knowledge of LV distribution systems, MCCs, motors, drives, and control panels.
Familiar with WIMES standards, British Standards, and water company specifications.
Experience using AutoCAD and electrical design software such as Amtech (or equivalent).
Understanding of CDM regulations and design safety responsibilities.
Well organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple workstreams.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
Full UK driving licence is required.
