Job Description

The Polyclear Group, based in Millbrook, Southampton, is looking for a reliable and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment through effective maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement - keeping downtime to a minimum and production running efficiently.

This is a hands on role that requires strong electrical skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a firm commitment to health, safety, and compliance standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, service, and repair all production and ancillary equipment across the site. Develop, implement, and adhere to a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule. Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and call-outs. Carry out general site maintenance and small engineering projects as required. Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives. Ensure full compliance with BRCGS and company quality standards. Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments. Apply both mechanical and electrical expertise in daily engineering tasks.
Requirements

Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Must hold a current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671). Proven experience within a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment. Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of PLC systems and control panels (advantageous but not essential).

Working Hours:

47.5 hours per week Monday to Friday You can choose early shift: 6:00am - 4:00pm or late shift: 8:00am - 6:00pm
-Includes one unpaid 30-minute lunch break and two paid 15-minute tea breaks per shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 37,500.00 per year
