SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVDA), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Part of the SPTS Engineering division, the Equipment Engineering and Development Group is a multi-disciplined team, providing automation solutions to enable the integration of SPTS process systems into customer semiconductor fabrication factories worldwide!
As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced/proven Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer with a detailed understanding of all aspects of electrical and electronic design.
You would be working with other specialists in the group with equipment design/integration and expect to work to tight deadlines in a highly regulated industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Electrical / electronic control and interface design
Electrical assembly design
Design of electrical enclosures using Solid Edge
Wiring harness design
AC/DC power distribution circuit design
Analogue and digital circuit design
Fault finding / problem solving
Designing critical safety circuits to comply with EN13849
Technical report writing
Producing engineering drawings, build and test guides.
Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
Proven experience working in an electrical/electronic design role
Strong understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards, EN60204, EN13849 essential
Understanding of UL/NFPA regulations
Design of safety circuits
AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience
3D CAD experience is desired
