Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator/project manage to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating project costs and ensuring that all estimates are accurate and competitive. This position requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of cost control processes to support our project management teams effectively. The position will include project management alongside estimating with works throughout the U.K.

Our office is based at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, however remote working is optional alongside the requirement of travelling to sites as and when required.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects based on specifications and drawings. Analyse labour, material, and overhead costs to provide comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Review and assess bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness. Monitor project budgets and assist in cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and techniques to improve estimating accuracy. Prepare reports and presentations on estimates for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficient in using estimating software and tools. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to team members and stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential if experience is relevant.
