We are seeking a skilled Electrical fitter to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical fitting and will need to have a proven track record of inspecting, servicing and repairing vehicles in addition to preventative maintenance of vehicles and other pieces of equipment. Working in an engineering environment on road rail excavators.
Duties
Fitting and installation of 24v electrical components to heavy plant and equipment
Installation of CANBus control systems
Be able to understand electrical wiring diagrams.
Troubleshooting and fault finding
Electrical diagnostics using manual or laptop devices.
To commit to punctual attendance for day - to - day work
Complying with all health and safety legislation and legal requirements is a priority.
Requirements
A qualification in heavy vehicle engineering (City and Guilds or NVQ) or a recognised apprenticeship would be beneficial.
Good communication skills
Good time keeping
The ability to continue to learn and take on new tasks as and when presented.
Being able to work flexibly as part of a team or on your own when required.
Ability to work under tight timescales and under pressure.
Previous experience working on machinery used in the rail industry would be beneficial but not essential.
Overtime rates
Time & half for hours worked Monday - Saturday.
Double time for hours worked Sunday.
Can work up to 20hrs overtime, giving potential earnings of between 40 - 50k per annum.
