Ealing Council have an exciting new opportunity as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer available on a full time basis.



Ealing Council Property Services delivers comprehensive building maintenance and facilities services to around 130 buildings across the borough. This is an opportunity to join the Electrical Maintenance Engineering team who carry out repairs and maintenance to electrical installations and building equipment within the Council's commercial properties.



As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will:


Make site visits, investigating faults and carrying out repairs and/or reporting back required remedial works

Assist in preparation of costings for quoted works including assessing requirements for labour and materials

Liaise and work in close partnership with Property Services' mechanical and fabric engineering teams and sub-contractors to provide a comprehensive electrical engineering service

Provide a high level of customer service to a broad range of Council stakeholders


Successful candidates will have the following:


City and Guilds, NVQ Level 2, or completion of electrical apprenticeship - required minimum, City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or Maintenance - desired.

C&G BS7671 2018 (18th Edition) - required.

City and Guilds or EAL 2391 or 2394/5 Inspection and Testing (desirable).

Full UK Driving Licence

Working knowledge and experience of maintenance and repair of electrical installations ideally across a commercial portfolio

Inspection and Testing experience, including completing EIC, MEIWC Certificates and EICR reports.

Understanding and working awareness of Health and Safety regulations and systems including asbestos awareness, working at heights and PPE

Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work schedules

Ability to form positive relationships with colleagues and work flexibly as part of a team

Effective verbal and written communication skills including completing job reports in plain English

Computer Literacy including use of handheld PDAs and Microsoft Office packages.
