Flamingo Flowers, Sandy SG19 2AJ are looking for an additional Maintenance Engineer
Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday
Weekend call out availability at week ends
Weekend working and 'on call' required
Job Purpose
To provide Electrical and multi-skilled engineering and maintenance cover with a bias towards electrical engineering across all functions.
Electrical Engineer will work as part of the engineering function, actioning maintenance practices to ensure best in industry standards for reliability, wastage, and cost effectiveness.
Generate, propose, and action improvement projects within the site to improve plant capability and machine availability.
Working within the engineering team to deliver continuous improvement to plant performance and upkeep of the site.
General Areas of Responsibility
Providing breakdown and maintenance cover to ensure production continuation and minimising down time.
Carrying out routine maintenance according to planned, preventative maintenance plan.
Working with the Engineering Supervisor and Production Managers to ensure that longer term skill development and machine modifications are identified and incorporated into the site plans and budget.
Ensuring all work undertaken is recorded, records kept and made available for audit purposes.
Ensuring all work is carried out safely implementing all necessary controls.
Principle Accountabilities
To ensure maximum output and efficiency of all machinery through scheduled maintenance routines.
Ensure machinery and building is safe and complies with all regulations.
Supporting continuous improvement projects.
Ensure all machinery and buildings are safe and comply with all regulations.
To report and communicate all maintenance issues effectively at all levels.
To contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes and site services.
To undertake maintenance on all plant equipment and service.
To ensure that safe working practices are followed using the companies H&S code of practice.
Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required and complete work requests.
Communicating with management, production staff and other departments at all times to ensure efficient and seamless maintenance/production schedules are achieved.
Flexible working hours is required and also the ability to attend out of hours callout if required.
Consistently complete relevant paperwork to maintain process integrity.
Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
Experience and Knowledge
Generic Competencies/Skills:
Preferable FMCG experience/background or similar environment.
A recognised engineering qualification is essential (City & Guilds, BTEC or HNC)
Will need to possess City & Guilds 2360 17th Edition
Proactive, can-do attitude.
Food safety qualification desirable
Proven ability to manage priorities and own time.
Flexible approach to working hours.
Good level of computer literacy and knowledge including Microsoft office.
Have a flexible proactive approach to work and working hours.
Good Health & Safety knowledge an IOSH or NEBOSH Cert would be beneficial.
