Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled

Electrician

to join our Maintenance team, ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Maintenance & Repairs:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and machinery in a heavy industrial environment. Respond promptly to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity. Work with PLCs, motor controls, drives, sensors, and automation systems. Work with and program robots.

Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM):

Conduct regular inspections and servicing of electrical components to prevent faults. Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules and completed work.

Installation & Upgrades:

Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment. Support projects involving machinery upgrades, automation, and energy efficiency improvements.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all electrical work complies with UK regulations and company safety standards. Carry out risk assessments and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Report and address potential electrical hazards proactively.

Continuous Improvement:

Work with engineering teams to improve system reliability and efficiency. Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and increase automation.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / Maintenance. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) certification. Experience working in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of PLCs, variable speed drives, motors, and automation systems. Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Desirable:

Experience with high-voltage (HV) systems. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
