Heights UK Ltd is a leading Industrial design/manufacturing company based in Halifax, West Yorkshire (HX2) predominately producing OEM equipment for the Graphic Arts industry. The company also supplies a diverse range of bespoke equipment to customers in various industries in the UK and Worldwide.
We are seeking a Electrical / Mechanical Assembler to join us. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team to support build objectives, they must also be flexible / multi task as this is a truly varied role.
This role entails the assembling of already developed as well as newly developed machinery and other sub-assemblies, along with adjustments and modifications to existing machines consisting of various electrical and mechanical components.
Duties:
Assemble electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components and sub-assemblies, such as pumps, motors, control panels, drive systems, gearboxes, valves/cylinders and chains
Read and understand General Assembly Drawings, Electrical Schematics and Diagrams
Testing and inspecting of finished machinery during the PDI process (Pre Delivery Inspection)
Attention to detail ensuring accuracy and quality in all assembly and installation tasks
Using measuring tools such as micrometres, verniers, depth gauges and Dial Test Indicators to ensure component accuracy during assembly
Utilise various power and hand tools effectively to complete assembly tasks
Comply with company standards regarding health and safety and other company guidelines/policies to maintain a safe working environment
Flexibility to work in various departments to accommodate the business requirements
Requirements:
Engineering Qualification (ONC/BTEC/NVQ)
Electrical / Mechanical assembly experience essential 2 years minimum
Willingness to transfer and learn new skills as required for the role
Have good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity
PC literate (Microsoft Word, Excel etc)
Hold a current driving license
Own tools would be beneficial
Benefits:
4 Day working week (36 hours Monday to Thursday)
Choice of shift either 06.00 - 15.30 or 07.00 - 16.30
Overtime available when required
Salary dependent on experience
