Job Summary


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Production Operative to join our manufacturing team. North Fire Engineering Ltd is an innovative UK manufacturer based in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire specialising in vehicle conversion of Military, Firefighting and Rescue vehicles. We engage in a broad range of business activities including design and manufacture and our world-class team of skilled Engineers build vehicles to specification using a variety of production methods, engineering machinery and tools.

We are hugely proud of our accumulated ability to engineer and manufacture operational vehicles for the most demanding roles and to the highest possible standards.

We are now looking for an Electrical Production Operative / Electrical Fitter to join our expanding team at our new, modern and purpose-built workshop based in Mytholmroyd. We are looking for an exceptional and skilled individual to join our world-class team, and this will provide the chance for the right candidate to work on the most exciting of vehicle build projects, serving our front-line fire and rescue services both in the UK and overseas.

Candidates will have previous experience working on vehicle conversions and also an electrical background, and be able to demonstrate the ability to carry out the requirements below:

Key Responsibilities



Working on our Military, Fire and Rescue vehicles you will be confident in completing electrical installations as per project specifications, (every project is different). This is a crucial role in our vehicle conversions and key responsibilities include soldering, wiring, crimping, loom installation and performing basic troubleshooting. Candidates should possess a keen eye for detail and have the ability to demonstrate all of the below:

Adept at understanding and interpreting electrical schematics and circuit diagrams

Ability to work under their own initiative

Ensuring that electrical components and systems are wired up and assembled correctly and efficiently

Installation of wiring looms

The use of hand tools including crimping devices and shrink guns

Previous experience in the safe use of shop floor engineering machinery for marking, cutting, shaping and forming various materials to a high standard would be a great advantage

This list is not exhaustive, the role will be varied and from time to time you may be asked to carry out other duties

Skills & Experience



Proven record of electrical experience and a background in vehicle conversion

Full UK Driving License is essential

Excellent communication skills

Computer literate

A good understanding of quality, health & safety and environmental requirements, maintaining a safe working environment at all times and excellent housekeeping.

Previous experience in a similar role should be demonstrated

It would be an advantage if candidates have their own tools

(16.00 per hour) (negotiable depending on experience)

Monday to Thursday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm / 30 minutes for lunch

Fridays 7.00 am to 2.00 pm / 30 minutes for lunch

Based on 40.5 hours per week

Overtime is available
