Major electrical installation works on a prestigious hyperscale data centre development in North Acton, London. This is a high-profile mission-critical facility that will showcase cutting-edge data centre infrastructure, resilient power systems, and advanced cooling technologies.
The Role
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all electrical works on this flagship data centre project. You will manage a multidisciplinary team, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a high-pressure and fast-paced mission-critical project.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all electrical installation works including HV/LV distribution, busbar systems, generator installations, UPS systems, PDUs, and backup power infrastructure
Manage critical power systems including N+1 and 2N redundancy configurations
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for data centre environments
Coordinate with the main contractor, consulting engineers, and client stakeholders
Monitor progress against programmes and implement corrective actions where necessary
Manage procurement of specialist materials, switchgear, and equipment
Conduct quality inspections and ensure work meets Uptime Institute standards and client specifications
Prepare progress reports, variations, and commissioning documentation
Manage project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting
Requirements
M&E Experience is essential
Proven track record delivering large-scale data centre or mission-critical building projects
Strong understanding of electrical design, installation standards, and regulations (BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations)
Experience with critical power systems, redundancy design, and 24/7 operational environments
Excellent commercial acumen including cost management and contract administration
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Project Management
Professional registration (IEng, CEng, or working towards chartership)
Knowledge of data centre infrastructure, PUE optimization, and energy-efficient systems
