We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role will involve.involve regular travel throughout the UK, some international travel will also be required for initial training and ongoing customer support. The main duties will be the installation, repair, servicing and inspection of metal-forming machinery and associated automation equipment. The role is based at our Derby facility, however work will generally take place at our customer sites, which include automobile manufacturers and the associated supply chains. Responsibilities
Front line trouble shooting and fault rectification.
Equipment inspection and testing
Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing activities.
Installation of new equipment and re-location of existing equipment.
Providing technical support, instructions and training to customers.
Carrying out software and hardware changes / upgrades.
Completing technical reports, timesheets and expense reports, etc.
Compliance with all relevant H&S guidelines and regulations.
Flexibility, including willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
Respond to service requests promptly and maintain effective communication with associates and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
The candidate will have completed a recognised technical apprenticeship and ideally be qualified to HNC level or above.
Essential Requirements
The ability to diagnose hardware faults on AC and DC circuits using schematic diagrams.
The ability to perform fault diagnosis and modifications on PLC systems.
A full UK Driving licence (6 points or less).
The ability to travel and stay away overnight, sometimes at short notice.
The ability to work unsupervised and under pressure.
Preferred Requirements
A background in electrical / electronic maintenance on metal-forming equipment, machine tools or automation equipment.
Experience of using Siemens, Mitsubishi, Fuji, Pilz, Beckhoff, PLC systems.
A good understanding of fault finding and commissioning on servo drive systems.
Strong IT skills with proficiency in MS Office and Teams.
A basic working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
