Electrical Shift Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Shift Engineer to join our current team.

As an Electrical Shift Engineer you will work closely with the wider engineering and production team(s) to ensure that machinery is safe and downtime is kept to a minimum by delivering a true mixture of planned/preventative/project and improvement tasks.

You will be able to undertake electrical diagnostics and repairs and will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance to the electrical infrastructure and subsidiary buildings.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:



Planned and reactive maintenance of electrical systems across a large, automated manufacturing facility in accordance with company EH&S guidelines Working on 3-phase systems, motors, drives, instrumentation, inverters and PLC's Carry out breakdown diagnostics (RCA) and support in the elimination of repeat failures Execute the electrical equipment specific inspections as per CMMS schedule Maintain accurately and effectively all necessary files/records, including use of the CMMS systems To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels and that stores processes are adhered to in the utilisation and management of spares.

Job Requirements (Qualifications and Experience):



NVQ level 3 HNC/D in electrical engineering (desirable) Excellent understanding of current electrical engineering regulations and guidance 18 Edition qualified (essential) IOSH certification Knowledge of Rockwell PLC Automation (ladder or function block) would be an advantage CompEx trained Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS office packages.

What to Expect:



Your usual place of work will be on process plant or around site infrastructure. As this is a quarry, the environment will be noisy and can change due to the weather therefore material handling operations areas can be dusty, muddy and wet.

The normal working day will consist of Plant preventative maintenance inspections, team meetings and attending minor breakdowns across the site.

Protective clothing will be supplied and required whilst on site.

The work can be stressful at times, i.e., when attending major breakdowns with the need for equipment to be operational as quickly as possible.

There will be frequent, ongoing contact with all the other operational departments on the site.
